We have been in business for since 2004 and have many outstanding reviews to show for it. Our Pet Care Pros are currently pet parents and/or were raised in pet friendly families. We are not only pet care experts but we have a proven track record of reliable and safe high quality pet care.
How are you different from other Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers?
Pet Care LA offers a reliable, caring service that you can depend on which includes one primary sitter so a relationship can develop between your pet, the sitter, and you.
We take our responsibility very seriously and care for your pets as if they are our own. We utilize an online scheduling and invoicing system, which allows you to easily confirm your pet care schedule and securely pay for pet care services online. Our staff receives nightly emails confirming their schedules so there is no room for error or confusion! We also think it is very important to keep you connected with your pet while you are at work or away on vacation so we email or text updates on a regular basis.
Are your Pet Care Pros insured and bonded?
Yes, all of our Pet Care Pros are insured and bonded by Kennel Pro and have had a criminal background check. A copy of our insurance certificate is available upon request.
How was Pet Care LA started?

Are you eco-friendly?
Yes, at Pet Care LA we strive to minimize our impact on the environment. We offer a unique online scheduling system, which means scheduling, invoicing and any forms you complete to use our pet care services are 100% paperless! As often as possible we use biodegradable bags for dog waste , thus reducing the number of plastic bags in landfills (We use upwards of 30 bags a day, that’s 7800 bags a year, that’s a big deal!). Additionally, our Pet Care Pros always design their daily dog walking and pet sitting routes to minimize driving time, which means they’re using less gas and are on the road less! We are truly eco-friendly!
How many Pet Care Pros will be looking after my pet?
Unlike some pet care companies who may send multiple people to care for your pet, we assign one primary Pet Care Pro who will meet you and your pet at the free consultation. This person will be the primary care provider for weekly dog walks and for vacation pet care services. We have qualified back up Pet Care Pros in the event your primary Pet Care Pro has an emergency and becomes unavailable.
My dog stays in the yard during the day so why do I need a dog walker?
Dogs thrive on companionship and exercise. If your dog has behavioral issues (ie. chewing, barking, anxiety, jumping, aggression) chances are he or she is not getting enough exercise. Our on-leash services provide a high energy, structured exercise routine for your dog that is guaranteed to decrease stress, anxiety, boredom and frustration and improve his/her overall health and well-being.
Why should I use your services rather than having a friend or neighbor care for my pet?
Having a professional pet care expert take care of your pets ensures that they are receiving the highest quality and most consistent pet care available. Your dog will get a walk suited to his or her energy level which not only drains energy but can also prevent and correct many behavioral issues. Many of our regular dog walking customers comment that their dogs are better behaved and happier once they are walked on a regular basis. We are also cat experts and our Pet Care Pros have extensive experience caring for our feline friends including administering medication to calm kitties.
Will you walk my dog in a large pack?
No. We never walk dogs in large unruly packs. We believe it is unsafe and does not give your dog the attention he or she deserves. We never walk more than three dogs together, and we will always match up your dog with another dog of similar size and ability. Walking 2-3 dogs together allows your dog to get some socialization but also individual attention. We will always ask your permission before matching your dog up with a buddy. If you prefer to have us walk your dog privately, we are more than happy to oblige!
How will I know if you have visited my pet?
We give you the option of text or email to stay in contact. Or upon request, we will leave a detailed Pet Care Log in your home which includes the time the visit took place and any comments regarding your pet. That way you can be certain you are receiving the reliable pet care you and your pet deserve.
What happens during the free consultation?
The free consultation is a meet and greet in your home with your primary Pet Care Pro. This meeting gives you a chance to ask any questions and go over pet care instructions. Most importantly, it gives your pet a chance to approve of his or her caretaker! The free consultation is just a way for you to personally meet and interview one of our Pet Care Pros. There is no obligation to use our services.
How do I make key arrangements?
There are a few options where keys are concerned. You can give a copy of your key to the Pet Care Pro at the free consultation and have him or her hold onto it for future visits. Or if you do not want your Pet Care Pro to hold onto your key, there are a few different options each time you wish to schedule visits. 1) The Pet Care Pro can pick up and drop off your key *$20 per trip fee applies*. 2) You can drop off and pick up your key at your Pet Care Pro’s home *Free of charge.* 3) The key can be left in a safe place outside of your home (i.e. a lockbox, manager’s office etc.) Please let your Pet Care Pro know what option you would prefer.
You've answered a lot of FAQ about dogs, what is your experience with cats and other animals?
Many of our Pet Care Pros are currently proud cat owners and all of them have extensive experience caring for cats and others. Other animals we have experience caring for include rabbits, birds, rats, fish, iguanas and chickens!
How do I pay for your pet care services?
Once you are registered, payment is automatically billed by charging the credit card on file 2-3 days ahead of time for vacation pet sitting and every other Friday for recurring dog walks. If you prefer a different billing schedule, please feel free to bring it to our attention. We are flexible! We accept credit cards only (Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express) and do not accept cash or checks.
